Risa Goldberg, President
Risa manages the digital and print Advertising Sales, Marketing and Promotion areas of the Media Recruiting Group. When it comes to Risa's expertise, reputation and contacts, she is a cut above the rest. Risa started her career as an advertising sales representative in the magazine industry and quickly progressed into a sales management role.
Having worked for major national magazines like New Woman and Elle, Risa gained incredible hands-on experience in media. After almost 10 years in advertising sales, Risa decided to make a change and establish a recruiting firm in the business she knew best...media. Over the past 8 years, Risa and MRG have been focused on digital media sales and marketing searches, resulting in the company’s becoming one of the premier digital media sales and marketing recruiting firms in the US.
Risa and her group of recruiting specialists are committed to making the best possible matches between companies and candidates. As one of the most well-known recruiters in the media industry, Risa knows firsthand what it takes to make it in this field.
Risa has a BS in Communications from Boston University. She participates with the local school’s PTSA in giving career presentations and instruction to students and parents on college testing. Risa is a member of the MPA and AWNY.
Steve manages the Digital Marketing, Audience Development, Direct Marketing & Circulation search divisions of Media Recruiting Group. In addition, he is the COO/CFO responsible for accounting, finance, human resources, technology and legal.
Steve also serves as the CEO of Media Recruiting Group’s Digital Sales & Marketing Training Course division. Started in 2009 in response to a growing need for digital media education and training, this division of MRG offers courses designed to empower media professionals in today’s rapidly changing times.
Prior to his career in executive search, Steve held positions in business and financial management. Steve spent 9 years as the Chief Financial Officer for JMW Consultants Inc., an International Management Consulting firm, where he managed finance, human resources, legal and information technology. Before joining JMW, Steve held positions with firms in telecommunication, education/ training, and "big-4" public accounting fields.
Steve has an MBA in Finance from New York University, a BS in Accounting from the Pennsylvania State University, and a CPA. He serves as 2nd Vice President, Board of Directors for the Westchester Youth Soccer League and is an Adjunct Professor for NYU-Polytechnic University. Steve is a member of the DMA, FMA, and AWNY and has spoken in various industry panels, events and schools.
