Summary

A US-based media company is seeking an experienced email marketer to join the Marketing team in NYC. The Email Marketing Manager will play a hands-on, critical role in assembling and executing marketing campaigns and content newsletters across the business. Reporting directly the Marketing Director, this individual will be responsible for executing marketing campaigns to drive event ticket sales and sell subscriptions. Their knowledge of email marketing best practices, as proven through prior work experience, will enable them to conceive, execute and report on email programs to deliver results.

The role will collaborate closely with sales, events, marketing, audience development, subscriptions, and editorial teams to ensure effective campaign development and execution. He/she will serve as the subject matter expert for all things email marketing within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, deploy, and monitor many simultaneous email marketing campaigns; including nurture programs, trigger, and drip-based automated email communications, ad hoc campaigns, and event series
  • Own key reporting metrics (deliverability, opens, clicks, unsubscribes, etc.) and deliver analytical reports as needed on email campaign results, highlighting improvements and issues
  • Partner with product, marketing, subscriptions, events and sales to develop campaigns that drive conversions
  • Proactively identify opportunities for testing and improvement
  • Support all initiatives to enhance the audience database through integrations and partnerships with the best-in-class vendors (Zoom Information, Reach Marketing, etc.)
  • Support the editorial teams in the deployment of and performance monitoring of all content newsletters

Qualifications:

  • Some experience with email marketing managing both content newsletter deployment and conversion-oriented marketing campaigns
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university required
  • Experience with enterprise marketing automation platforms; and experience with SailThru specifically is preferred
  • Ability to conduct sophisticated analysis of and create lucid presentations of campaign performance data using Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of HTML to allow for updating existing email templates is a plus
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Strong collaboration skills including the ability to work with across different levels and functions in the organization
  • Knowledge of email best practices including CAN-SPAM and GDPR legislation is a plus
  • Experience with database segmentation is a plus
