Summary:

A recognized and trusted brand of health information is seeking a SEO Specialist with compelling search engine optimization and digital marketing experience to support traffic acquisition and retention strategies.  The candidate will actively participate in the optimization of new and existing content for optimal natural search engine index rankings and conversion.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute on SEO tactics and manage SEO process
  • Assess editorial optimization opportunities for new and existing content and create project plans for management approval
  • Perform keyword research and analyze data to help inform new content creation and suggest content enhancements for better targeting and work with editorial and medical teams to implement
  • Coordinate SEO strategic initiatives
  • Coordinate communication about SEO traffic
  • Work with other SEO team members to develop strategic tactics intended to increase search ranking across multiple pages of content including internal site architecture enhancements, external link-building campaigns, and indexation and crawling enhancements

Qualifications:

  • Experience as SEO employee or digital marketing/content role inclusive of SEO
  • Complete understanding of SEO editorial best practices, SEO strategies, search term research, keyword targeting, and technical obstacles that would hinder search engine bot crawling and indexing
  • Highly skilled in developing effective keyword targeting strategy, prioritizing SEO initiatives, and executing on planned SEO tactics
  • Have proven communication and writing excellence, an exceptional attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in our dynamic high growth and deadline-driven environment
  • Experience with Omniture/Site Catalyst (Adobe Analytics) web metrics preferred
  • Be able to work independently as well as collaborate as a cross-functional team member
  • Excellent knowledge of optimizing web sites for major search engines; including how HTML, JavaScript and site architecture impact search rankings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and advanced in Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with Google webmaster tools and other such tools
  • Experience with SEO for a professional audience preferred
  • Experience optimizing large web sites with content management publishing systems preferred
  • Experience with third-party enterprise SEO tools preferred
  • B.A. in related fields including Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, etc. preferred
